«Let us list the main postulates of Vastu-shastra.
1). According to Vastu, the northeastern direction is defined as the source of all energies, and the southwestern direction is defined as the place where all energies flow out. The main direction of energy is from the north-east to the south-west, as well as from the north to the south and from the east to the west. Do not keep any trash in the northeast sector of your home. This sector is considered one of the most important in Vastu. This place is sacred because it is ruled by Jupiter. It must always be kept clean.
2). The building should be oriented clearly or with a slight deviation to the cardinal points of world, the main entrances to the north or east.
3). In land plot and in dwellings that have the shape of a square or rectangle, the energy moves in the same way as on the surface of the Earth, therefore the shape of plans in the form of a square or rectangle is most favorable.
4). The correct slope of the land on the plot is from south-west to north-east.
5). The location of the water source or reservoir plays an important role. It should be in the north or northeast from house.
6). The layout of the rooms is carried out according to their functional purpose in accordance with the influence of the elements and planets on each sector of the house.
7). Brahmastan – the central and most important part of the house – the belly of Vastu-purusha. Most of the energy at home is concentrated here. From Brahmastan it is distributed in all other sectors. Therefore, this space should be left as open, free and lit as possible. Moreover, it is necessary to avoid load-bearing structures, walls, partitions, columns, etc. in this place. The kitchen or toilet located in the central part of the house will greatly worsen the energy of your home. This is due to the fact that the main chakras of Vastu-purusha, the symbol of living space in Vastu, will be blocked.
8). It is important to properly use the color in the interior space. Carefully selected color will increase the influence of the planets and the elements that dominate certain sectors of the house.
9). The kitchen is a sacred place in the house. The quality of the kitchen affects the quality of life of the whole house and all its owners. “We are what we eat.” People with good health and long-livers tend to eat well. Keep the kitchen clean, do not allow pets in the kitchen, do not go there in dirty, untidy clothes, do not eat in the kitchen, for this have dining rooms .
10). Never trash space at the main entrance. The main entrance to a house or apartment is the mouth of your house, through which the whole house receives prana, i.e. life energy. The most unfavorable position of the main entrance to the house is the south-west, because it is from the south-west that the negative influence of the planet Rahu comes. The eastern side is the most favorable, because it is at sunrise that the energy of the sun is the most powerful and beneficial for life.
11). Sacred music, mantras and incense must often be in the house. Remember that sound is the most powerful weapon, since sound is associated with the primary element of the ether and has all-penetrating ability. It penetrates deep into our consciousness and either purifies it, leading to development, or destroys it, leading to degradation. Do not fight and do not swear. Try to avoid gossip, criticism, condemnation in your home.
12). It is favorable to decorate the house with images of deities, yantras, mandalas, Om signs and a swastika. It is good to have an altar in the house.
13). The personal aspect of Vastu (Vastu-purusha) manifests himself in every room. We know what kind of God is in charge of each direction. Therefore, when planning the premises and their design, we focus not on our own interests, but on the identity of the deity who controls this area.
